National parks across the United States try to implement a timed reservation system in 2025, in order to reduce the travel crowds. Due to increasingly popular destinations in the country, places are often recognised as the most crowded and need a lot of effort to control.
Travellers are aware what national parks are implementing reservations and what are the specific requirements needed to be reserved anywhere from days to months in advance. Your reservation is often booked on Recreation.gov.
Below National Parks Need Reservations in 2025
1. Arches National Park
From April 1, 2025, Arches National Park decided to introduce timely reservations. It is not the first time they are introducing a reservation system, even early periods of time were included in its schedules. Travellers will be required to obtain entry tickets between 7 am to 4 pm each day except from July 7 to Aug. 27, except camping. From now onwards travellers book reservations through Recreation.gov and are released three months in advance in monthly blocks. While booking in Arches National Park visitors have to pay $ 2 processing fee.

2. Glacier National Park
Located in the backyard of Montana, United States blessed by the glaciers, mountains, flower garden meadows and diverse wildlife. Like Arches National Park, Glacier National Park reintroduced a vehicle reservation system for the west side. Going to the Sun Road and North Fork from June 13 to Sept. 28, 2025. Reservation will be required from 7 am to 3 pm, as usual reservation available at Recretion.gov with each area of the park. Here also visitors have to pay $ 2 as a processing fee.

3. Haleakala National Park
The Hawaiian Park is known for its outstanding volcanic landscapes of the upper slopes along with its clear skies and cultural importance. Park is home to Maui’s highest peak, requesting prior reservation to do multiple things. Especially if you are an adventure backpacker who wishes to hike the mountain during sunrise, you have to book in advance. Tickets are issued per vehicle and limited to one per customer every three days. Interesting factor is that visitors have to pay only $ 1 as a reservation fee.

4. Yosemite National Park
Yosemite Park has gained top rank in the United States park list known for its breath taking natural beauties and iconic landmarks. Park includes many beautiful sports like Granite cliffs, Yosemite Valley, Glacier Point and Waterfalls. Yosemite requires reservations to visit 24 hours per day on Saturday and Sunday from February 2025. Reservation also includes Washington’s Birthdays on Feb. 17.

5. Zion National Park
Such a beautiful California Park requires advance reservation booking to visit and to hiking the popular Angels Landing in 2025. Park has a lottery system which makes reservations that are released on a rolling basis. Permit requires cover of application for up to 5 people with cost of $6. Per person is required to pay $3 as a permit cost.

6. Rocky Mountain National Park
Last but not the least, Rocky mountain national park also implemented a timely reservation system to access the park. From May 23, 2025, they implemented 2 different timed permits including Bear Lake Road Corridor and access to the rest of the park. Reservation requires 5 am to 6 pm for Bear Lake Road Corridor and for park it will be 9 am to 2 pm. Visitors can enter within 2 hour periods without any set departure time. Travellers should book reservations at Recreation.gov with $ 2 processing fee.
