Throughout the days that I spent here at Orlando, “Wizarding World of Harry Potter” is the only place where you and I can get a Diagon Alley feeling. People often talk about walking into Diagon Alley since I was a first timer and I did it and it allowed me to open up my mind to see butterbeer carts, shop windows and how Hogwarts Express connects 2 lands.
When it comes to locations interestingly split across Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, the original Wizarding World lands remain some of the most detailed theme park environments in the country. One thing I would like to share with you is that before I started my journey to this Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the place remained as the most obsessively detailed environments in American theme parks.
5. Launch Yourself into Space History at Kennedy Space Center
Exclusively served as NASA’s launch operation center located just an hour east of the theme park corridor. Kennedy Space Centre’s visitors complex is the most demanding and recommended place by most of the previous visitors including me too.
This visitor’s complex is a place where your Orlando trip is going to be more unique and interesting. Yes, stand directly under a Saturn V rocket. Fun things here are, while walking through its Apollo mission control room, interesting to take tours like real launch pads, and — depending on the schedule — watch a live rocket launch from the causeway. There is another fact which makes your Kennedy Space Centre more fun is that it consistently rates as one of the best “non-Disney” days they’ve had in the area, especially with kids who are into space.
Actually this space centre is really a gem to us to catch real rocket lifting from the causeway and give the feeling of touching an actual piece of the moon under regular admissions. But there is some downside which I experienced here. Bleachers for launch viewing are metal and you’ll be sitting on them for three or four hours. It will be a little tedious task, so bring your own cushion.
However, people like us pay hundreds of dollars to see these launch pads, but sometimes it gets pushed back by 2 days. It may affect flights home and there is no such kind of refund. So, keep in mind that launch dates are not guaranteed what you paid. Make sure that you don’t book a launch viewing package on your last possible day in town and budget a full 6 hours.
6. Wander (and Eat and Shop) Through Disney Springs
If you are obsessed too much after paying a lot of the entry fee and looking to do your fun things in Orlando without paying a single penny, I highly recommend Disney Springs. Disney World’s free-to-enter dining, shopping, and entertainment district, and it’s become a go-to evening plan especially for adults.

If you’re a little unhappy or disappointed after the Disney Park trip, maybe this Disney Spring is going to cover up. Disney Spring entry concession is far better than Disney Park and sometimes you may feel skipping the park is a good idea. However, the place works even as a standalone visit. As usual, going to spring early or late is a good idea to escape from being too packed and better avoid Friday and Saturday.

Lake Eola Park, right in downtown Orlando, is a genuinely lovely spot to swan-boat around the lake, catch the Sunday farmers market, or just sit in the shade after a few days of park-hopping. I personally roamed the majority of places, but this place is a genuinely lovely city park that most tourists never bother to find shade with coffee and watch a completely different slower version of Orlando city.
However, I like its locals, treat it the way any city treats its favorite park, and travelers who make the short detour downtown are often surprised by how different — and how relaxing — this side of Orlando feels.
It is a good idea if you plan three days into a theme park marathon and to understand one afternoon that doesn’t involve a queue.
9. Tee Off or Swing Big at TopGolf
I’m a big fan of the night vibe and sometimes I even wish to spend most of my time at night activities. Once I searched in Orlando, I got to know that TopGolf could be the best option for me. Orlando is home to one of the original TopGolf locations, and it’s a genuinely fun way to spend an evening even if you’ve never picked up a club.
